Website that generates no customers: what needs to change?

A website that brings in no enquiries almost always has one of these four problems: it is not found, it is not understood, it does not reassure, or it is hard to contact you. The diagnosis starts by identifying which one.

1. Is your website found?

Look in Google Search Console at how often your pages appear in the results and for which searches. If the website almost never appears, the problem is indexing or SEO. For a local business, the Google Business Profile and local SEO are often the fastest levers.

2. Can people understand what you do in five seconds?

The home page must say clearly what you offer, to whom and where. A vague slogan (“excellence at your service”) is no substitute for a precise sentence: “MacBook repair in Paris, diagnosis in 30 minutes”.

3. Does your website inspire trust?

  • verifiable work or clients;
  • reviews, figures, genuine certifications;
  • an address, a phone number, a legal notice;
  • a fast, up-to-date website.

4. Is it easy to contact you?

A visible contact button on every page, a short form, a tappable phone number on mobile. Every unnecessary form field loses enquiries. Also measure clicks on the phone number and form submissions: without measurement, you are fixing things blind.

Where to start

Fix the weakest link first: there is no point attracting more visitors to a website that does not convert, nor optimising the conversion of a website nobody finds. An audit quickly determines which; a redesign is not always necessary.
